Tell It Like It Is

I am a Manager in retail and have been for many years. I listen to people and their ideas and comments every day. Since I am the Manager, I have to hold my tounge and just listen to what they have to say. I am tired of it and want to voice my say.

Amarillo Ritz

Well I am back, the remodle is over and I took a week off work.
The plan finally came together and we made the 6 hour trip to Amarillo to see the kids.
Six hours does not sound like much to the younger folks, but for two old people, it might as well have been 18 hours. Let me tell you it was well worth the drive and I would have driven 18 hours to have a day like we had.
The traffic was very light and I had my beautiful wife to keep me company, great tunes on the CD player, although my singings was critized more than once, we had a very pleasant drive.
Once we arrive at the Ritz a phone call was made and Lo and be hold we both arrived at exit 75 at the same time.
The first time I have laid eyes on my grandson, he is so beautiful. My grand daughter has grown into such a lady that I almost did not reconize her.
I was so pleased that my grand son ACE took to me right away and let me hold him, I was in heaven. But lets skip all the mushy stuff and go to check in.
They messed up our rooms and had us down for the next day to check in instead of today. Well we got that corrected and carried all the stuff to the rooms. For the price of the rooms, we all expected more, but never the less we were not there to see the rooms, we were there to see the kids and that we did.
You will all have to check out OGO's blog because I know she will have some great stories to tell.
I took the grand daughter in to the pool and we played and played and played. I had flash backs of when her mom and I played in the pool many years ago. And for those who know me, it happened again. It seems that I have an allergy of some kind to water, each time I get into a pool or a large body of water, I break a toe, I was not let down. The toe next to my big toe took the hit this time and now looks like a big black berry stuck on then end of my foot. I did not let this slow me down how ever, I still had plenty of time to spend with the kids and I was not going to let this throbing ball on the end of my toe put a damper on the party.
We all made fun of the hotel we were at and we all had plenty of laughs, but I enjoyed every minute of our visit and look forward to the next one.
I will post a couple of pics of where we were staying and you will see it was not as bad as OGO might make it sound, although she does point out a few minor problems we encountered.
The NaNa and I had such a great time that we have decided that we are going to take other short trips and spend some much needed time alone together and see some sites.
A special Thanks to OGO and CCboy for the plans and the visit, we look forward to your blog and your pics.
Love you all and again thanks.
P.S. You have such great kids, We love them both so much.

I'm still here

Sorry for the time out.
I have been so tired at night when I get off, and this puter is the last thing on my mind.
I started my remodle four days ago and for some reason I am starting to stress. I have been getting up between 2 and 3 am every morning and not able to go back to sleep. Then after working all day I am so worn out when I get home all I want to do is eat, shower, and talk to MaMa Eagle.
The remodle is going well so far, the construction guys are completeing projects that are not scheduled until day 9.
I guess I will have to get on here and do my updates at 3:00 am before I go in at 5:00 am.
Your MaMa Eagle is looking well for those of you that have not seen her lately.
Well I have not eaten all day and I need to get at it, I think Mexican pizza sounds goood. Yea thats it, Mexican Pizza tonight....
Miss you all and look forward to seeing you all soon.
The Eagle Man.

Let me know what you think

Let me know what you think of this area, maybe we can all get together and have a picnic and a family get together. It is a short hike down to the beach along a beautiful path, but it is worth the walk. Look forward to hearing your thoughts of the get away.

My Visit to the Lake

Well I went to the Lake today and took my camera and fishing poles. I had a great time although the wind was blowing pretty hard, I still had a great time.
I caught two fish and a tirtlet, (very very small turtle).
I got some great photos which I will post a couple of them so you can see where I was at, it was so beautiful there. I wished MaMa Eagle was there with me, but she stayed at home and mowed the yard.
I had an old man (older than me) show up and started a conversation with me, which quickly lead to a story about his boat flipping over in the lake and he lost everything except one fishing pole. The story was repeated three times with in a 30 minute time span and each time the details changed. Although I heard the story before, I smiled and acted surprised each time.
The wind and the stories became to much for me to handle, so I packed up and came home to spend some time with my lady.
I had a very nice visit with my son and his wife yesterday and we had dicussed taking photos during this visit. Having this in mind when I went to the lake, I took some landscape pictures that I hope my son finds interesting. As you all know I normally take pics of wildlife and flowers, but for my son I took some of the landscape around the area where I was fishing. But I could not resist and I got more pics of some birds, and I won't boar you with those I will post some of the more interesting ones of the landscape.

there was one there, but upside down.

To My Three Children

You all have a very special place in my heart.
It amazes me how very different you all are and yet how much alike you are.
When I look at you all, I see three adults that makes my heart ache with pride and Love.
I Love You My Babies.

To My Baby

To My Baby,
Thank you for the lovely card. You've been on my mind today.
I've thought of all the wonderful times you've had and all the hard times. It's been a real trial at times but it made you strong and wise.
I'm so proud of you and what a wonderful woman you've become.
You are my sunshine
I Love You

An Experiment in Ethics

Eagle Man and I had a very interesting dicussion yesterday and it made me curious about how other people would react to the subject.
So I would like you to answer a few questions for me. The Key to this little test is that you answer quickly, do not sit and ponder or think to
much about it. I want to know what your immediate response is.
I won't be judgemental to your answers ( heaven knows my responses were nothing to brag about) I'll share my responses later.
So with your permission here it is.

1) You just purchased something and you're waiting for your change. The cashier gives you to much change. Do you return the money or quickly put it in your pocket and leave (the amount isn't important).
1a) Is your reaction any different if you know the cashier casually and like them, or is the result the same as if you don't know them.
2) You are in public and you see someone accidently drop some cash out of a pocket or purse. Do you get their attention and tell them or do you quietly wait for them to leave so that you can claim it as yours?
2a) Would your response be any different if it was a young child or an elderly person?
3) Would your reaction be the same in all these examples if the person left personal items instead of cash (such as jewelry, keys, gloves, cell phone or whatever).
3a) Would your reaction be different if the dropped item is something you want for yourself.
Thats all for now. I'll give you the answers Eagle Man and I had later.
I have more questions but I think I'll wait and see the results of these before I post more. Remember to respond honestly and quickly.
Thanks for playing.

MaMa Eagle Says "Don't sweat the small stuff"

I have been thinking about this for several days.
I have been trying to put my thoughts into perspective over the whole "Don't ask how ya doing if you really don't care" thing.
So if anyone is interested in my opinion here it goes.
In these modern times of fear, anger, paranoid thoughts, elective isolation, self doubt, loneliness, financial despair, personal and governmental persecution, petty jealousy and envy, etc. etc. Life has become a very complicated ordeal just to survive let alone succeed at.
We have to survive road rage, drive by shootings, home invasions, muggings, robberies, hateful and petty schemes of revenge and pay backs.
Sexual predators in our churches, schools, police departments, jobs, in our own familes and our neighbors.
Drug and alcohol abuse that changes people and loved ones into frightening strangers who will lie, steal, abuse and kill. As they stumble through life in their chemical induced fog.
Our children have to be fearful when they go to school, church, playing in the neighbors yard, their own yard and even their own home.
Parents are neglecting, abusing, and killing their own children. Children are stealing, lieing, and killing their parents.
Our goverment is stomping on our personal rights under the old "for your own good" excuse, and ignoring all the pressing issues of our homeless, displaced, unemployed, eldery, mentaly ill, orphans..... the list is endless.
And I haven't even touched on the fear of the terrorist (that includes our home grown American terrorist).
As you can see the problems we have on our minds in the year 2005 are endless and real.
So if it helps to smile at a stranger and nod or say "how ya doin" why not do it.
If it makes you feel good to set aside the very real and scary things we live with everyday I say go for it.
It doesn't matter if you have some silly, unimportant, inane conversation at the store for a few minutes a day if it brightens your day for a few precious moments and takes your mind off the very real and serious issues of every day life.
And maybe, just maybe that silly smile and useless conversation will brighten someone elses day enough to help them carry on another day.
We're all in this together and we all have our triggers and sore spots, but I personally find comfort in being polite, friendly and civilized with the people I encounter.
So belive me when I say to you all, "GOD BLESS YOU AND HAVE A GREAT DAY".
MaMa Eagle Loves You
